Doing the Sunday crossword puzzle.

This was such a great Kodak moment, I just had to share it with everyone. Alex likes to do the crossword puzzle with Doug. Apparently doing a crossword puzzle requires ALOT of talking!!

It's beginning to look a lot like ..... Easter??!!

My Dad used to sing that when we were kids. He would sing....It's beginning to look a lot like Easter (instead of Christmas, of course). I don't know what made me think of that today but now it keeps running over and over in my head. It still makes me smile.

All four of us went out and plowed snow. Doug has a plow for the 4-wheeler. Alex and Doug take the front and me and Sissy sit in the back with a blanket. Yum!!! Very toasty and sweet. I think we must have 4-5 inches of snow so far. Not super cold out there yet so it was fun to play in the snow with the kids. Alex loves to make snow angels. Sounds like it is going to be extra bone-chilling tonight. Stay warm!!

Carly has been "blooming" like crazy this year. She has been doing awesome things. Here she is at school on jammie/slipper day. The other day Sara (Carly's para) was saying that she followed Carly into the classroom and Carly went and sat at a desk. When she sat down, she actually was sitting at someone else's desk (the desk in front of her desk). Sara sat back to see what Carly would do. The boy came back to his desk to find Carly sitting there. He asked Carly why she was at his desk. Carly turned around, looked at Sara, chuckled and proceeded to get up and go and sit at her desk. This is a huge deal for our Carly and we are super, duper proud. Thank you Sara (Thanks for taking the picture too!!) and all for all you guys do for our sweet Carly!!

What happened to December??

Not sure what happened to the first half of this month but it is flying by way too fast. A brief update. Baby Clayton and his Mama got to come home on the same day which was GREAT news. They were worried that Clayton would have to stay. I finally got to meet him tonight (ok I guess it was technically last night). He is deliciously yummy!! I forgot how soft, sweet and so, so tiny a baby is.
I made a baby towel for Clayton. Alex was kind enough to model it for me so I could take a picture. I have been busy in the craft room but can't share most of that with you because most of them are Christmas gifts. More later. Stay tuned.

The details.

Look at the hair on this little honey! Isn't he sweet!! This is Clayton Porter my new grandnephew. He was born on Monday (12/1) at 6:38 am via c-section. He was 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. Unfortunately he has been in NICU (low blood sugar and wasn't eating well) most of the time and his Mommy and Daddy (not to mention his Grandma Denita!) haven't been able to hold him except to feed him. He was under the bili lights for awhile too but now his coloring is more typical. It's so exciting to have a new baby in the family!

Well, I have finally finished reviewing all of the entries for my little Thanksgiving contest (What are you thankful for?). Kris -- you won. Instead of just one thing that Kris is thankful for, she had 10 listed. Here are the 2 that really made me laugh:

**I've got a roof over my head and enough good intentions to fill each room. (FYI: Good intentions sometimes hide under clutter and roll up in dust bunnies under the furniture. This is why I never rearrange the furniture, lest I am forced to do something about them!)

**I've got 9 siblings betweens the ages of 43 and 61. Not one of them has ever written in to Dr. Phil or Jerry Springer. (We are a nice mix of mostly Swedish, mostly ex-catholics who know how to keep it all under the rug where it belongs. Bonus: We've still got the 85 year old parents who taught us how to do that!)

I can really relate to the good intentions portion!! Kris you will (hopefully) receive your prize within the next week.

A new baby in the family.

Woohoo!! I am a Great Aunt!! Jess and Stuart had their baby this morning. All I know for now is that baby (Clayton after Jess' grandpa) and mama are doing fine. Details later!
